Description VERY RARE circa 1910 VINTAGE STERLING SILVER GATED-TOP BAG. Bag is in excellent condition. Stamped sterling silver on the inner cap, the purse is known as a Gate-top, Beggars Bag, or Accordion Cap Style bag, because once the cap is lifted, the "accordion" style hinge expands in order to open. On the cap is a wonderful Faceted Amethyst Stone, just the perfect accent to catch one's eye. If you are a true steampunk enthusiast this is a must have to complete the final touch to a great look. Most of these bags are not made of Sterling Silver and with such a great closer. Of all the bags of this style I have to say this one is a winner and just the greatest coup for those collectors who need that special bag to top off their collection.
