Vintage Fruit and Flowers Hand Painted Ceramic Pitcher Jug by Stangl 64 Ounces. This is a STANGL, hand painted, 64 ounce pitcher, in the Fruit and Flowers pattern, circa 1954-1978. This piece is in very good to excellent, pre owned condition. There is one small chip on the edge of the spout. See photo #7. There are no scratches, cracks or repairs. Please view the photos for more details on its condition. Stangl pottery was hand loaded into the kiln and placed on kiln pins. The marks from the pins are visible on the bottom of the piece. A hallmark of Stangl design was that the pattern was scratched into the piece (sgrafitto) and then hand painted. Due to the handworked nature of the pottery, no two pieces are exactly the same. Each piece of Stangl pottery is initialed by the artist on the base of the piece. The mark on the bottom reads, ?Hand Painted Stangl Trenton, NJ Oven Proof Fruit and Flowers ?. The piece measures 9?W (from spout to handle) x6 1/2?H and 4 1/2? Diameter opening. It weighs about 2 lbs 6 oz.
