Item description

Pre-viewed for quality and had a little fuzzy bottom edge that is due to the EP mode. I could not track it out on my Sony deck. Played great otherwise. The color is real good except for the ant sequences which are a faded yellow tint. Obviously a differant film stock was used and this would be a good movie if not for this glaring inconsistency by the makers. Box cover is shelf worn around the corners and both spines have wrinkles and creases down their entire length. Based on H.G. Wells' novel, Joan Collins is an agressive land developer trying to turn a swampy island into an exclusive residential community. In the process, her builders rupture a can of atomic waste that has washed ashore. A colony of ants feeds on the substance which causes them to grow into voracious monsters with heightened intelligence and cunning. The night of Marilyn's gala opening arrives, and the ants are ready. With a vicious persistence, the monsters attack the guests, cutting off there only means of escape. Forced into the jungle, their only hope of survival is a risky, one-in-a-million chance that could destroy them all. Director Mr. BIG (Bert I. Gordon) got his nickname from making lots of movies with giant things in them. His favourite trick was macro photography, enlarging his subjects and then superimposing them on footage that included humans in the shot.
