Item description

The famed Curry Leaf plant, native to India and Ceylon, lends its pungent scent as a main ingredient in delicious curries. The many segmented foliage is borne on a compact bush convenient for harvesting. Curry Leaf, also known as Kadi Patta or Sweet Neem, is a small tropical and subtropical evergreen tree known for it's aromatic leaves. This plant is primarily used as a culinary herb and cooking spice. Fresh leaves are usually added to rice or dried then powdered for use in Indian cuisine. The flavor is delightful and has a warm spice to it. The plant is traditionally used in Ayurvedic medicine. It is claimed to help with the treatment of diabetes. The primary constituent in Curry Leaf is cinnamaldehyde, which is also commonly found in cinnamon. Zone Hardiness: Outdoors 9-11 with frost protection until established; Patio/Greenhouse 4+. Our Curry Leaf is grown from seed. Leaves are capable to harvest within the growing season. Capable to start to produce berries (not edible) and seeds within 2-3 years.
