Item description
CORO VINTAGE SIGNED STERLING 1940?s LEAF COAT CLASP PIN EUC
Coro founded in 1901 in NYC by Cohn Rosenberger, grew into an international costume jewelry company known for workmanship and outstanding finish quality.
In the 1970?s was acquired by the Oscar de la Renta Group. Gene Verri was one of Coro?s most important designers.
The CORO logo was adopted in 1943. Catamore was contracted to make their precious metal pieces. The Vendome line was sold at only high end stores such as Neiman, Bloomingdale?s, Saks, etc.
The jacket/lapel/coat flip prong piece which is offered for sale is in excellent condition.
It measures 2?x1? - weighs 16.3 grams sterling, sports the SCRIPT ?CORO? logo on the reverse.
?Sterling? is stamped on the reverse below the Coro Script and on the hinged part of the double prong jacket pin.
The pin appears to be two gracefully flowing leaves overlaid on each other, and three large superb sapphire blue glass faceted stones centrally mounted in a row.
The viewer is drawn to the stones and the superb gold washed leaves serve as a background mirror causing the faux jewels to be even more prominent.
Its two graceful stems add more character. Its graceful lines and timeless styling would accent any attire.
Since it is sterling it could be adapted by a jeweler for a pin and clasp or loop added to wear as a pendant.
There is no exact peer of this example and condition on the web. It probably dates from the 1940?s give or take.
To the right buyer it is timeless and can be worn year round and coordinated with all attire.
What?s old is new again. Great for weddings, something old, something new, something borrowed, something BLUE!!!!! Fits all.
Comes in a jewelry store box ready to gift. A new/old generation of wearers will enjoy it.
Please examine photos fully for additional condition information.
