Not recommended for planting in hot and humid Zones 8 and up where chilling requirements are difficult to meet leading to unreliable blooming. Zones 3-7 Lilac Germination: 1) Soak seeds in water for 24 hours. 2) Place seeds in a zip lock bag of moist perlite and place in the fridge. Check weekly to be sure it stays moist, but not overly wet. Use a spray bottle to mist them occasionally to ensure it doesn't dry out. Keep in the fridge for 60 days. 3) Use a heated propagator to keep the soil temperature at 70 degrees F or greater. 4) Plant seeds 1/4" deep, and keep them moist, "not wet". 5) Expect germination within 3-4 weeks.
