Item description

Brand new factory sealed 4 vhs tapes box set. LP mode duplicated so be sure your vcr supports this tape speed as some tracking may be needed. Full screen versions are perfect for old school televisions as the image will fill your square frame. DOLL FACE is Out Of Print (OOP) in all formats and no longer being manufactured. All are in glorious B W except for ROYAL WEDDING which is in Technicolor. STORK CLUB: A little song, a little dance, will Betty Hutton find romance? The actors manage to rise above the script in this silly, overdone fable. Hutton stars as the poor but spunky hatcheck girl who unwittingly saves the life of a billionaire. His expressions of gratitude are less than appreciated by her G.I. boyfriend. Done mainly as a vehicle for Hutton's promotion, so Betty's die-hard fans may find it to their liking. Song highlights include 'Doctor, Lawyer, Indian Chief'; 'Baltimore Oriol'; 'I'm a Square in the Social Circle'; 'If I Had a Dozen Hearts'; 'Love Me'; 'China Boy'; 'In the Shade of the Old Apple Tree'. POT O'GOLD: Jimmie Stewart plays a wealthy young man who signs on with a struggling band. He convinces his uncle, who has a radio program, to let the band perform during a radio giveaway show he has concocted. Stewart plays the harmonica. ROYAL WEDDING: Fred Astaire and Jane Powell play a brother-and-sister dance team who go to London during the royal wedding of Princess Elizabeth, and find their own romances. Notable for the inspired songs and Astaire's incredible dancing on the ceiling and walls. Alan J. Lerner's first screenplay. The idea came from Adele Astaire's recent marriage to a British Lord. Songs include 'Too Late Now'; 'Sunday Jumps'; 'How Can You Beleive Me When I Said I Love You When You Know I've Been a Liar All My Life?'; 'You're All the World to Me'; 'Happiest Day of My Life'; 'Open Your Eyes'; 'Ev'ry Night at Seven'; 'I Left My Hat in Haiti'; 'What a Lovely Day for a Wedding'; 'How About You?'. DOLL FACE: Story of a stripper who wants to go legit and make it on Broadway. Film was adapted from the play "Naked Genius" by tease queen Gypsy Rose Lee. Songs are 'Dig You Later'; 'Here Comes Heaven Again'; 'Chico-Chico'; 'Somebody's Walkin' in My Dreams'; 'Red Hot and Beautiful'.
