Item description

THE RED BRANCH by Charles McMorris Purdy New York: Robert M. McBride Company, 1928. First edition. This copy inscribed and SIGNED by the author to the front endsheet. Mild fading to top page edge coloring, else a bright, nearly fine copy in café au lait binding with black lettering; in an edgeworn, chipped, edge-torn illustrated dust jacket that has been repaired from the reverse with cello-tape. Albeit, a nice copy! John Panham attempts to escape the drabness of life in Peruvia, Missouri--where his family's brick plant supports the town--to seek the fabulous Red Branch of Irish legend, only to get caught up in the human problem of marriage to a Parisian café girl.
