Antique Folder-Style Cabinet Card Photograph. Identified as Elinor Merriman. Photo by Ray Studio of Lewiston, Maine. This is almost certainly a high school graduation portrait, and is dated 1930, suggesting she was born circa 1912. Measures approximately 4.5 x 6.5 including mount. Condition: This is an original photograph, not a copy or reproduction. The image is in very good condition, although a bit light in contrast. The mount has noticeable staining. Comments: This photo came from a large collection of inter-related family images, mostly from the state of Maine, including the surnames Merrill, Macgowan, Chute, Merriman, Freeman, Randall, Lang and Coxen. The primary progenitors of these families are George Everett Macgowan, George Curtis Chute, and Henry Foster Merrill. We have added several photos of these families to our inventory, all listed and sold separately. Additional Information: We have a few photos of Elinor Merriman taken in Portland and Lewiston, Maine, which are listed and sold separately. Notes on some of the photos indicate she was the daughter of Charles Macgowan Merriman, a "cousin" to the Macgowan family, and most likely had a brother named Howard.
