Item description

THE KING IN YELLOW by Robert W. Chambers Ace Books (1965) First Paperback Edition Condition: Near Very Good Back in 1895, when this book was first published, it was hailed as a "masterpiece that could only have been written by a genius of the highest order". Some years later, August Derleth wrote, "...with the work of Poe and Bierce, [it] shares the distinction of having contributed to the famed Cthulhu mythos of H. P. Lovecraft". Lovecraft himself said it "really achieves notable heights of cosmic fear". This paperback edition contains all ten of the stories of the original, including the famous "The Yellow Sign". Cover art by Jack Gaughan. Moderate spine wear, some edge wear, a damp spot on the upper edges, darkening of the cover backs and, to a lesser extent, the pages. Tightly bound and unmarked. One of the classic horror collections of the 19th century.
