Item description

You are purchasing one 5-8'' tall (pot height is not included) Cinnamomum zeylanicum Tree Starter Plant in 3'' square pot. Height: 20-30 ft. (6-9 m) Hardiness: USDA Zone 9b: to -3.8 C (25 F) Sun Exposure: Sun to Partial Shade Bloom Color: Pale Yellow Foliage: Evergreen Various varieties of cinnamon exist, only two of which are commercially popular: plain cinnamon - Cinnamomum zeylanicum, and Cassia cinnamon - Cinnamomum aromaticum, native to Burma and South China (not to be confused the Cassia plant). The spice cinnamon is obtained from the young bark of the branches. The two differ in appearance in the fact that the bark of cinnamon is thin and yellowish-brown, and the bark of Cassia is thicker and gray in color. Cinnamomum zeylanicum possesses the stronger aroma, but to deduce the form of the plant from the appearance of the spice is practically impossible. Cinnamon leaves are rich in phytonutrients. Essential oils are extracted from the leaves or it can be used to make capsules. Often the entire leaf is used as an ingredient to make herbal tea. Cinnamon leaves have a wonderful flavor and is often used to make baked and sweet dishes. They are a popular flavoring agent of porridges – especially cornmeal porridge – in Jamaica. Cinnamon leaves are used to make herbal teas that are possible helpful with weight loss. Drink at least 2 to 3 cups of cinnamon tea to help with obesity. Cinnamon leaf tea can also ease flu and cold symptoms and relieve upset stomach without causing any side effects. You can combine cinnamon leaf with green tea to boost health benefits. Grown organically in Florida. Pictures are from my garden of the actual plants and actual fruits that I grew. Shipped via USPS First Class or Priority mail.
