Item description

CBS RADIO MYSTERY THEATER Collection 4 - BOX SETS 7 and 8 - 24 Audio CD - 24 Shows - Episodes 73 to 96 The CBS Radio Mystery Theater was an ambitious effort by veteran radio producer Himan Brown to revive interest in American radio drama. Every night host E. G. Marshall (later Tammy Grimes) ushered listeners through a creaking door -- similar to the one Brown used on Inner Sanctum decades earlier -- for an hour of “the fear you can hear.” Brown produced nearly 200 new episodes of Mystery Theater every year, using both original scripts and adaptations of classic stories by Edgar Allen Poe, Mark Twain, Robert Louis Stevenson and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. The Mystery Theater brought many veterans from radio’s golden age back before the microphone, including Agnes Moorehead, Richard Widmark, Celeste Holm, Mercedes McCambridge and Howard daSilva. The show also featured performances from many up-and-coming stage and film actors, including Tony Roberts, John Lithgow, Morgan Fairchild, Mandy Patinkin and Sarah Jessica Parker. E. G. Marshall died on August 24, 1998. The CBS Radio Mystery Theater was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 1990 EPISODES LIST 74-03-03 0049 Prognosis Negative 74-03-04 0050 This Will Kill You 74-03-05 0051 A Long Time To Die 74-03-06 0052 The Sending 74-03-07 0053 The Creature from the Swamp 74-03-11 0054 The Thing In The Cave 74-03-12 0055 A Sacrifice In Blood 74-03-13 0056 A Little Night Murder 74-03-14 0057 The Fall Of The House Of Usher 74-03-18 0058 Sea Of Troubles 74-03-19 0059 Frankenstein Revisited 74-03-20 0060 Ghost At The Gate 74-03-21 0061 Ordeal By Fire 74-03-25 0062 Diary Of A Madman 74-03-26 0063 Death By Whose Hands 74-03-27 0064 Its Simply Murder 74-03-28 0065 Unearthly Gift 74-04-01 0066 Black Cat 74-04-02 0067 Pharaoh's Curse 74-04-03 0068 Die You're On Magic Camera 74-04-04 0069 Thing Inside 74-04-08 0070 Locked Room 74-04-09 0071 Murder Museum 74-04-10 0072 Out of Focus THESE ARE REGULAR AUDIO CD WILL PLAY IN ANY CD PLAYER, DVD PLAYER OR COMPUTERS THIS COLLECTION WILL BE DELIVERED IN A BOX SET WITH ART WORK PUBLIC DOMAIN NOTE This item is the public domain and was created between January 1, 1923 and December 31, 1971 This item is in the public domain due to failure to comply with required formalities After a careful search of the Library of Congress and the United States Trademark and Patent Office, it has been determined that the programs listed for sale here are in the Public Domain.
