Item description

YOU HAVE SEEN THEIR FACES by Erskine Caldwell Margaret Bourke-White Modern Age Books (Gold Seal Edition) First Softbound Printing, 1937 Condition: Very Good in Fair dj This large softbound book (following the hardback edition) calls attention to the plight of the Southern sharecropper in the latter days of the Great Depression. Their story is told in both text and large captioned photos. This was the first collaboration between Southern author Caldwell and noted photographer Bourke-White; they subsequently married and worked together on other books. This copy has some general wear, nothing serious, and the interior is unmarked with modest toning of pages. The very scarce jacket has a detached front cover and a piece out at the FC lower corner; there is edge chipping and smaller edge tears and creases. (The fragile jacket is now protected in a plastic sleeve.) The book itself is uncommon.
