In creating this necklace I selected malachite beads, #11 green seed beads, a sterling silver and malachite pendant and sterling silver findings including 4 mm beads, slider and a toggle clasp. The necklace is 20" in length and the pendant is 1 3/8" by 7/8" and set with a bull's eye malachite cab, The pendant is not stamped, however, it was crafted by my friend Jim Taylor and he uses sterling silver. The beads vary from about 3 mm to 8 mm. The malachite beads were imported as a necklace from Africa. As these imported necklaces are usually strung on a light weight thread with a plated clasp, I prefer to redo them into a more quality piece using sterling silver findings and tiger-tail.
