Offered is this truly stunning porcelain vegetable tureen with lid in the Seagull pattern, by Bing Grondahl, Denmark. The understated, classic design features flying seagulls against pale blue backgrounds, seahorse handles and knob, gold trim and embossed scales encircling the tureen. This pattern was in production between 1895 and 1997-over 100 years! The backstamp dates this piece between 1970 and 1982. Hand wash only. This piece is in excellent pre owned condition. There are no cracks, chips or repairs to the china. There is minimal wear, if any, to the glaze and gold gilt. Please see all photos for more detail on condition. The company's Seagull dinnerware series became known as the "National Service of Denmark" in the 1950s when it was found in one tenth of all Danish households.
