Item description

ZULEIKA DOBSON by Max Beerbohm Illustrated and signed by George Him Limited Editions Club, Garamond Press, 1960 (copy #1093 of 1500) Condition: About Near Fine Subtitled "An Oxford Love Story", Beerbohm's only novel is a satiric fantasy about undergraduate life at the university. Though Beerbohm wrote other books (essays and short stories), he is most renowned as an expert caricaturist. The somewhat oversized book is enhanced by the dozens of witty and whimsical illustrations, including many color plates, by George Will, who also signed the limitations page. In addition, Douglas Cleverdon provided a preface. This copy has minimal wear on the corners and spine ends. Otherwise, this is an extremely nice, clean copy with a firm spine and primarily white pages. It lacks the dust jacket and/or slipcase.
