Bambusa multiplex “Fernleaf” is highly prized as a short, thick, deer-resistant hedge. The very upright green canes have side growth stems that bear densely packed, small green leaves. This density not only creates a screen but also a sound barrier. Fernleaf is usually between 8 and 10 feet tall, al though reports of 15 feet exist in perfect conditions. The canes are inch in diameter and are thickly spaced. Fernleaf is hardy in zones 7b through 11 and in zone 7a, will return from the roots in those years where temperatures reach 0 degrees. Water requirements are moderate after plant is established. You will receive a nice one gallon size plant.
