Brand new factory sealed dvd in its original full screen format. Easily fits into the 'Found Footage' genre. First photo is my personal copy with alternate artwork that is included, 2nd photo is how it comes originally packaged. Animal lovers need to avoid BRUTES and SAVAGES, a film so sadistic that it makes the more famous 'Faces of Death' look tame by comparison.
Arthur Davis helms a South American expedition which massacres credibility as well as wildlife. A whirlwind tour of the world's primitive jungles. Natives putting on face paint and hunting animals with spears and engaging in various sexual rituals and sculptures. A variety of animals are slaughtered-some slowly-in front of the camera. One native falls prey to a group of alligators. Animal-on-animal gore is completely real. Bunnies, armadillos and snakes fall prey to bigger predators. The nastiest is when a big jungle cat is attacked by gators in a starving feeding frenzy.
In one scene, the narrator explains how the crew, under threat of death, had to film headhunter rituals from a concealed location using a telephoto lens. In the next scene, the camera's point of view is from the inside of a native hut, facing the "headhunters". Which begs the question, are some of these things sadistic fabrications for the sake of art? And let's not forget the native llama sacrifice, which is up there with the turtle scene from 'Cannibal Holocaust' on the unwatchable scale.
This is the totally uncensored version which has never been seen until now. Presented in it's original 1.33:1 fullscreen aspect ratio. Perfect for older TV sets as it will fill the screen. Transfered from the original negative the image is superb. For better or worse, you've never seen or heard anything quite like it. Oh, and the ending...well, consider yourself warned.
