Item description

Asklepios or Asclepius statue God of Medicine , Replica copy Greek sculpture from National Archaeological museum of Athens , Museum quality art Greek statue, -----------Asclepius was a hero and god of medicine in ancient Greek religion and mythology. He represents the healing aspect of the medical arts; his daughters are Hygieia ("Hygiene", the goddess/personification of health, cleanliness, and sanitation), Iaso (the goddess of recuperation from illness), Aceso (the goddess of the healing process), Aglea (the goddess of the glow of good health), and Panacea (the goddess of universal remedy). He was one of Apollo's sons, sharing with Apollo the epithet Paean ("the Healer").The rod of Asclepius, a snake-entwined staff, remains a symbol of medicine today. Those physicians and attendants who served this god were known as the Therapeutae of Asclepius.---------------- Height 28 cm / Weight 800 gr The art work is made by keramin, a plaster - polymer compound . Also is painted with white patina effect. We don't use alabaster ( or marble dust or magnesitis or sand ) which are VERY cheap materials with porous and poor quality. Each piece is unique so the patina may have differences from item to item. Our Artworks can be sent all over the world via Greek Post Office and by A priority. After the shipping we will inform you for the tracking number. 353
