Rare, 18th century Russian 84, 87.5% silver hallmark, elegant big serving spoon made in St.Petersburg circa 1741- 1896 . Antique, Soviet silver over 100 years old serving spoon, hallmarked with the Anchor and scepter for St.Petersburg city, and assay master initial B C and what I believe is a small I cyrillic ? on the top corner. Both marks are in the spoon bowl. Very good to excellent condition considering its age, no breaks, repairs , nicks or any other damage, slight rubbing on the back of the spoon bowl. The Russian 84 silver spoon measures 8 3/8" x 1 5/8" at the widest point ,spoon bowl , and weighs 70 grams. The imperial eagle mark it was replaced in 1741 by an anchor and a grapnel crossing a scepter, variations of the theme where used until 1896 for the city of St.Petersburg.
