The person I purchased this from said that her father removed the prints from an old book ( from 1870) of Mr. Kretschmer's German costumes, and had them double matted in beige and dark red. The prints and mats are very good quality, and covered with plastic for protection. Image size is about 10 x 8 inches (25.8 cm x 20 cm); mat size is about 16-3/8 x 13-1/2 inches (41.5 cm x 34.3 cm) Condition: Very good, ready to frame, if desired; border area has some spots or discoloration; image area is perfect I have a number of German costume prints of paintings by Albert Kretschmer.
