This Antique Chinese Painting Table is handcrafted in elegant Ming Style with simple and straight line. The table was originally made as calligraphy painting table. The table is typical "Waist" style Ming furniture. The "waist" just below the tabletop is made from a separate piece of wood and carved in a "narrower waist" connecting the tabletop and the table body in a very unique way. The spandrels of all four sides of the table have intricate carving designs. The legs of the table are uniquely carved into "column" shape. The table is made from core of elm wood with beautiful wood grain. The table is handcrafted and structured with wooden pegs and tenon structure, which is the very traditional craftsmanship for furniture making in ancient China. Excellent condition.
