Antique British Silver Edwardian Egg Cruet Raised Gallery Paw Feet Signed Army Navy Cooperative Society Westminster London England 1800's Exquisite, antique Edwardian British Silver Egg Cruet for six, magnificent and exceptional piece composed of heavy gauge silver plate made by the Army Navy Cooperative Society Westminster London circa 1880-1919. The oval silver egg cruet has an openwork design with leaf and flower garlands raised gallery frame spaced with oval cartouches and stands in four paw/animal feet. The edges of the egg cups , frame and handle have heavy beading. The surface of the stand is fitted with six Silver egg cups each one with a secure peg , It also features half-moon slots that hold the six spoons in place ( no spoons available ) Dimensions: 8 1/8" x 6 1/4" at the widest point, 6 1/2" inches tall from the paw feet to the center tip of the handle. Each egg cup is 2 1/8" tall. Condition: one of the pegs seems to been professionally repaired , and one egg cup its a little bend , top part ( opening ) nothing major. All silver plating is intact , no wear, no scratches or any other damage. The stand is marked with the shield of the Army Navy Cooperative Society the number 580 Warranted hard soldered and another mark , please see pictures. The store began as a co-operative society, The Army Navy Co-operative Society, formed in 1871 by a group of army and navy officers. The intention was to supply 'articles of domestic consumption and general use to its members at the lowest remunerative rates'.
