GEORGE A. WEYMOUTH by M. Stephen Doherty. As founder and chairman of the Brandywine River Conservancy and
Museum, and as an accomplished artist, George A. "Frolic" Weymouth upholds one of the greatest traditions in
American art.
THE WATERCOLOR PAGE: JACQUI MORGAN. The author of a new book entitled Watercolor for Illustration (Watson-
Guptill Publications), Morgan describes how she uses the medium when executing her commercial assignments.
WENDELL MINOR by M. Stephen Doherty Wendell Minor's designs and illustrations appear on the covers of many
best-selling hardcover and paperback books. He has the ability to create illustrations that are well painted and
carefully composed.
BALANCING INTERESTS IN ART AND ILLUSTRATION by Michael Garland This New York artist has success fully
pursued his interests in corn mercial illustration and outdoor landscape painting. His illustrations appear regularly
on magazine covers and in advertisements, and his easel paintings are shown in reputable fine-art galleries.
Carland explains how he maintains this balance and offers a demon stration of his painting techniques.
A PAINTER LOOKS AT JOHN SINGER SARGENT by John Howard Sanden In this article, Sanden, a well-known
instructor and portrait painter who admires and has studied Sargent, explains what he has learned from looking
at Sargent's paintings.
JOSEPH B. O'SICKEY by Sam Kirby. This Ohio artist and teacher is well known for his large paintings of gardens,
porch settings, and figure compositions, all done on location. In this article, O'Sickey demonstrates how he makes
these oil paintings.
