Offered here is this Amazing Gothic Revival Antique Lion Head Sideboard. I am unsure of the exact age of the piece. It most certainly dates to the 19th Century. It is Victorian in detail but has Gothic elements as well. The piece is in exceptionally good condition, for a piece of this age. It does have some surface scratches and dings on it, and I am not sure if the glass or hardware is original. It has a key, and the top and bottom doors can be locked. The shelves on the bottom are cut out to accommodate the latching mechanism. The glass in the top doors is a textured style of glass and is slightly opaque. The drawers have half-blind dovetail joints that are a bit wider space, as is typical of older pieces that date to the earlier half of the 19th Century. The lion head embellishments are hand carved. There are a few small areas where the wood is just beginning to split, however, these areas are small, and the cabinet is structurally quite sound. The cabinet is 50” wide across the top of the bottom half, is 20.5” deep at the bottom half, 15” deep at the top half, 17” deep at the top trim, 42” tall at the top of the bottom cabinet, is 80” tall in total.
