Item description

WHILE ROME BURNS LONG, LONG AGO by Alexander Woollcott Pocket Books Bantam Books, 1st pb printings, 1941 1946 Condition: Near Very Good Woollcott was a noted American drama critic and raconteur from the 'teens to the 1940s. ROME is a selection of his most popular writings; LONG focuses on stories about famous people. The latter book has pictorial end papers by famed caricaturist Al Herschfeld (some writing on front end papers of both books). ROME has some front cover creasing (and a few light page corner creases) spine edge wear, light corner/edge wear and a bit of lamination peeling. LONG has some corner and spine wear, only slight edge wear and virtually all lamination intact, plus a few page corner creases. Both books are securely bound ROME has white pages (LONG pages are toned).
