Item description

Brand new factory sealed vhs tape is perfect for older TV's as the full screen image will fill your square frame. The uncompressed audio is superior to its digital counterpart. Retro pop-n-go video has no pesky menus to contend with either. Based on a true story, African captives aboard the slaveship AMISTAD, led by a Mende tribesman named Cinque (Djimon Hounsou), free themselves and take over the ship in a bloody mutiny. They are tried in America for murder, while the ship's owners, the salvagers and the Spanish Queen claim them as their property. Property attorney Robert Baldwin (Matthew McConaughey) must prove in lengthy court battles that the Africans were rightfully freed individuals in the eyes of the law. John Quincy Adams (Anthony Hopkins) presents the Africans' defense to the Supreme Court.
