PHIL DIKE: THE POETRY OF PAINTING by Janice Lovoos. In his youth Dike studied with such giants as George Bridgman, Frank
Vincent du Mond, and George Luks, and he traveled to Europe to study from the Old Masters. He returned to his native
California and began a long and distinguished teaching career, and he established himself as a painter of the California
scene.
