Item description

We Combine Shipping For Multiple Purchases ******* This listing is for a lot of 9 vintage booklets, dated from 1917 to 1935, pertaining to the growing, housing, and feeding of chickens. Learn everything from proper housing to prevent overcrowding to preparation of the collected eggs for selling at market. These are very old booklets with good staples, they do have dirt stains on the pages, page foxing, and some light bends on the corners. The first 8 booklets were published by Cornell University, the last booklet is a Farmers Bulletin (#1112) by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. These books have color pictures of chickens and book #3 has a large fold-out showing various stages of the eggs. Book 1: The Cornell Reading Course for the Farm – Rearing Chickens, Brooder House Contstruction --- dated November 1917 Book 2: Cornell Extension Bulletin – How To Select Laying Hens – Sept. 1917 Book 3: Preperation of Egss for Market – February 1918 Book 4: Control of American Foulbrood -- March 1920 Book 5: Plans of Cornell Poultry Houses -- May 1926 Book 6: Capon Production -- June 1926 Book 7: How to Lower the Cost of Housing Poultry -- June 1929 Book 8: The Ventilation of Poultry Houses Book 9: Culling for Eggs and Market -- 1922 Condition -- All the books are older copies that are in good-very good condition. No loose pages in the books and all have tight staples. They have dirt stains and foxing and some light page corner bends. See photos for conditions. I have noticed that the listing form will sometimes automatically check the ‘irregular size’ box under the shipping section, which could reflect a higher postage cost. If the seller doesn’t uncheck it prior to listing item, the postage cost showing to the buyer would be higher than sellers’ intent. So please question postage costs. Shipping: NOTE: Especially International Buyers Every item I sell is weighed on an electronic scale. I then measure approximately what size box would be needed to safely pack and ship the merchandise, including the packing material. That information is inserted into the listing form when I list my item - I have no control as to how it appears on your end. If there are questions about the cost please contact me prior to bidding with your zip code and I will give you what I believe will be closer to the actual price. Refunds are given for postage overpayments so don’t let that keep you from bidding. Handling Time: within 2 days of receiving payment Returns: 14 day only, buyer pays return postage. No partial refunds or returns, all items sold must be returned, all sealed items must still be sealed. Of course I am always happy to discuss problems should they occur. Combined Items: Will combine purchases if not fragile or creates over sized box All items that I have listed are here in my home, no waiting for third party to mail them. Pictures show actual item that you are bidding on. Many of the items we sell come from estate liquidation sales; we cannot guarantee that they come from a smoke free or pet free environment
