Item description

NATURAL VARIETY OF URANIUM ROCKS 6 LB. ASSORTMENT: $30.00 15.05 S/H $30.00 plus shipping 6 lbs weight These rocks were found mainly at ground surface at a mining site 20 miles N.W. from Grants NM. Some of the rocks were found at Lisbon Valley UT, near the town of Moab; also at Uravan CO, the oldest uranium mining town in the USA. The rocks are sold by weight totalling six lbs; they are NOT sold by size or number. Each rock's activity level has been measured with a Ludlum 2200 ratemeter / scaler, the most accurate geiger instrument available. The measured activity of the rocks varies, but it averages at the same level as that detected from FiestaWare ceramic orange dinner plates crafted during the FiestaWare uranium era, 1936-1943. A white dot (typing correctional fluid) identifies on each rock the surface area with fastest activity. WHAT TYPE OF MINERALS ARE THE URANIUM ROCKS? The rocks at the New Mexico uranium field vary, but mostly are these: Jurassic todilto limestone, Uraninite (pitchblende), carnotite, coffinite, or Tyuyamunite. Advice from geologists who can identify these rocks' mineral types more precisely will be appreciated. The New Mexico uranium field is approximately 20 miles NW from the mining town of Grants. It is part of the "New Mexico Uranium Belt;" 65% of all uranium ever produced in the USA came from mines sited within 60 miles of this canyon. These handsome rocks were made in USA! BONUS 40-MINUTE DVD VIDEO, NOT FOUND ON YOUTUBE! Enclosed with the uranium rock will be my original DVD video disk, dated March 2017 March 2017 and July 2019. This 40-minute video provides a narrated video tour of the NM locale where many rocks can be found through prospecting. This exclusive DVD video program is enclosed at no extra cost. (This video is NOT to be uploaded to YouTube.) ACTIVITY LEVELS OF THE ROCKS Each rock is measured with a pancake probe (Ludlum 44-9, a standard pancake) on a Ludlum 2200 ratemeter / scaler, the most accurate geiger instrument available. LOW: 5,000 cpm or less; MID: 6,000 to 39,000 cpm; HIGH: 40,000 to 60,000 cpm. Rocks above 60,000 cpm are sold individually, with single-rock ads. The first photo in each of my single- rock ads shows the rock held by hand against a blue-sky background. In this variety assortment of rocks, 15% are in the LOW range, 70% are in the MIDDLE range, and 15% are in the HIGH range. These percentages are based on weight, NOT on number of rocks. The descriptive terms LOW / MIDDLE / HIGH activity are by comparison only with other natural uranium rocks; these terms DO NOT compare any of the rocks with medical, industrial, or military applications. ALL GOVERNMENTAL AND POSTAL REGULATIONS ARE FOLLOWED These regulations allow rock collectors to own and to mail natural uranium rocks. The federal Bureau of Land Management (BLM) owns uranium fields and allows hobbyist "rock hounds" to gather rocks at those fields. The rocks must be properly labeled, and must be double-boxed when mailed. The federal Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) does not allow manufacturing of anything from the rocks without an advance NRC license. The rock parcels can be mailed to addresses within the USA but are NOT allowed to be exported to any foreign country. NEW MEXICO: TOP U.S. STATE FOR URANIUM MINING Historically, more uranium has been mined in New Mexico than in any other state. WYOMING has richer uranium reserves, but they are too deep underground for large-scale mining to be economically practical. VIRGINIA has an absolutely gigantic uranium reserve at Coles Hill VA, but in November 2019, the U.S. Supreme Court upheld Virginia's state law that bans any uranium mining. NAME OF THE NM URANIUM FIELD IS MISLEADING The Poison Canyon uranium field is located 20 miles NW from the town of Grants NM. Its name has NO connection to uranium or to radiation. The name refers to toxic non- radioactive minerals (e.g., selenium) in the ground that sicken farm animals which graze on this rural land. SHIPPING COST: ONLY THE ACTUAL USPS POSTAGE Some sellers conceal the actual postage cost; My software is set voluntarily to display the actual postage cost at the heading of the shipping label. If the actual postage cost is $0.40 or more below what you paid, I will fully refund the amount overpaid to your account, as soon as the package is mailed. ALL FEDERAL REGULATIONS ABOUT URANIUM ROCKS ARE CORRECTLY OBEYED (1) Bureau of Land Management (BLM): Collection of rocks is okay for rock hounds; ATV vehicles are not allowed; daily limits on permitted weight of rocks. (2) Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC): No manufacturing from rocks allowed without NRC advance license; correct labeling; medical health safety statement. (3) U.S. Post Office (USPS): Double- box packaging of rocks; shielding of rocks; ground transport; no exports allowed to any other countries. SHIPPING NOTES I do combined shipping, so look at my other ads, also. If you order two or more items, pay the postage as stated in the ad. Then, when the parcel is mailed, I will refund any overpayment on postage above the actual cost of postage. The parcel will be wrapped and shipped in accordance with all postal regulations. The following postal statement will be affixed to the package: NATURAL UNPROCESSED ORE This package conforms to the standards of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission's rules 40.13 and 40.22, as well as USPS Packaging Instruc- tion 7A and USPS Publication 52, Section 347.22 Price: $30.00 plus $15.05 s/h HHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH "The old prospector" (age 74) Stephen Buggie, Ph.D. Psychology Professor Emeritus Univ. of New Mexico, Gallup
