Item description

Details This sale is for 25ml of pure 20% salicylic acid with 40% lactic acid combination skin peel. Formulation I am an industrial formulation chemist by trade and have derived a pure grade of this combination peel which uses pharmaceutical grade salicylic acid, food grade lactic acid and pharmaceutical grade isopropanol as the only ingredients. There are no chemical preservatives or additives. A chemical peel is a body treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off Lactic Acid Alpha hydroxy acids (AHAs) are naturally occurring carboxylic acids, lactic acid is a natural constituent sour milk sour milk and found in tomato juice Lactic acid is known in the cosmetic industry for its line treatment with blemishing reduction properties. This makes it the perfect choice of peel for those with oily or combination skin who want the maximum line treatment benefits and blemish reduction properties of an Alpha Hydroxy Acid peel This is the mildest of the peel formulas and produces light peels for treatment of; Fine Wrinkles Acne Areas of Dryness Uneven Pigmentation Blackheads Whiteheads Rough Dry Skin Large Pores Ageing Skin Wrinkles Rosacea Psoriasis Actinic Keratosis Lactic Acid should not be used when the skin is broken, inflamed or damaged (cuts and grazes). Salicylic Acid Salicylic Acid is a BHA (Beta Hydroxy acid) found naturally deep in the heart of Willow Bark and Sweet Birch trees. It is a highly effective skin peeling agent and an excellent pore cleanser with anti-wrinkle and anti-acne properties. It works by gently removing old cells from the skin allowing it to be replaced with healthy skin; boosts collagen production and in turn balances oil production (less acne and blemishes); and lessens the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. Salicylic Acid also has an anti-inflammatory effect. This acid is able to penetrate the oily material blocking pores and flush it out. A chemical peel is a body treatment technique used to improve and smooth the texture of the facial skin using a chemical solution that causes the dead skin to slough off and eventually peel off. Unlike Glycolic and Lactic Acids which are gradual peels, using a Salicylic peel may cause visible peeling that can last up to 3 days. Please note that Salicylic Acid Peels are not recommended for use during pregnancy or lactation. Salicylic Acid is used for the following conditions: Acne, Acne Scars, Blackheads/Whiteheads, Dry Skin, Sun-damaged Skin, Blotchy Pigmentation, Fine Wrinkles, Loss of Elasticity, Large Pores, Bumps, Rosacea, Age Spots/Dark Spots, Seborrheic Keratosis, Hyperkeratosis, and Actinic keratosis Directions for use First Timers - It is advised for first time users to begin with a lower strength 10% salicyclic acid / 40% Lactic Acid treatment. Initially cleanse the skin with a suitable cleanser / toner. Take a cotton pad and dampen with the solution. Apply the damp cotton pad to a small area of the cheek and wait 1-2 minutes, and then wash with plenty of warm water to remove the peel. Then access your skin tolerance for this % of combination skin peel. There should be no redness, burning or formation of blisters during the treatment. If this is the case discontinue use as your skin type is too sensitive for the Lactic Acid peel treatment. But, the skin can turn light pink during the peel process, after 48hrs the skin colour will return to normal. General Procedure – Wipe a dampened cotton pad over the face with the combination Skin Peel. Leave for 2 mins then wash off with plenty of warm water. Repeat every week increasing the time period of the peel on the face by 1 min each time for a period of 6 weeks in total. After the 6 weeks it is advised to allow the skin to rejuvenate for at least 2 weeks before beginning a further treatment regime. After each treatment use moisturizer to ensure the skin does not dry out. During sunny weather wear the appropriate sun screen to protect the newly exposed skin cells (SPF15 is recommended). During the treatment phase the skin will peel and appear flaky after 1-2 days after treatment. This is a part of the treatment removing the dead skin cells. Further information can be found here; en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chemical_peel Packaging The 25ml of 20% salicylic acid with 40% lactic Acid combination skin peel treatment will be supplied in a 25ml HDPE heavy duty bottle. The bottle will be sent in a strong Jiffy bag. Health and Safety I hold an MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheet) for compositions used in the formulation and it is available on request as a pdf file which I will send to you. All my products come with the appropriate labels indicating correct handling and safety. Lactic Acid should not be used when the skin is broken, inflamed or damaged (cuts and grazes).
