You are buying dormant bare root Fall Gold Raspberry plants. The photo shows the size of these large plants. These are not plants dug from someone's backyard, they are inspected by the State of Oregon to be disease and virus free. Raspberry plants should produce for 15 or more years. That is why Universities recommend you don't risk wasting time on plants that are not inspected or certified. We ship to all states. Fall Gold has large conical golden berries that are somewhat soft, but very sweet. Excellent for fresh eating, jams and jellies. Adapted to Zones 4 - 8, Fall Gold will ripen a crop in July on 2 year old canes and a second larger crop from late August until frost on new canes. Canes are vigorous and very productive. Fall Gold is hardy to -25 degrees, but not recommended for extreme northern areas where the first frost is in September. This heirloom variety is recommended for home gardeners and is easy to grow. These plants bore fruit last year and will produce fruit in the Fall...and in the Spring and Fall of following years, depending on how plants are managed. Plants should be planted 2-3 feet apart. Canes will be cut back to 5-8" tall for shipping and to promote new cane development. The canes were originally 3+ feet tall.
