Item description

This is for a stated 1974 First Edition copy of The Silent Cry, by Kenaburo Oe, originally published in Japan in 1967. Published by Kodansha International Ltd. This first American edition was translated from Japanese by John Bester. Hardcover with dustjacket, and dustjacket has a clear plastic dustjacket protector on it. 274 pages. Dustjacket has very minor wear and a little minor rubbing to white areas. Binding is good. Page foredges show a little dirt from storage. The upper outside corner of some of the pages at the beginning of the book look like they were bumped, causing them to kind of curl upwards a little bit. Pages are white and supple.
