Item description

Available in this listing is an old Riley's Toffee Tin out of Halifax, England that can be used to a variety of things, stash box, crayons, jewelry, small travel case, marble button box, precious notes or letters or just about anything you can imagine using it for. Circa 1960's this tin shows a Canadian Mountie on horseback with mountains in the background and silver decal sticker on the top lid. Tin shows its character with age and is a perfect rustic display piece in a log cabin setting. CONDITION: Rough. There are dings, dents, scratches, rust and scrapes. It is sometimes hard to open and close, but worth saving as a collectible tin. Image still very viewable. Tin measures approximately 5-1/2" inches wide by 1-1/8" inches tall by 4" inches deep. HISTORY: RILEY BROS., ENGLAND: Riley Brothers (Halifax) Limited was founded by Fred Riley and his brother J. H. Riley in 1907. The works were originally in the family home until the factory moved to the Kingston Toffee Mills in 1911. When J. H. Riley died in 1953, the company was bought by Nuttall's. It was subsequently bought by the Guinness Group and then by Callard Bowser, and in 1988 by United Biscuits /McVities. Please read my seller’s Policies before you purchase to understand your responsibility as a buyer and mine to you as a seller. Photos are an integral part of item description. FINE PRINT: As with all vintage/antique items there may be normal wear, dings, dents, scratches and other unique details that do not take away from the value or function, but add to the history and character of the item. If there are any major/minor damages it will be stated above. I do not in any way clean or change this item so as not to affect its prominence or value. All inquiries welcomed. Please see my seller’s page for my Seller's Policy's and Guidelines. Depending on your computer monitor's resolution and color settings, the picture may differ slightly in color from the actual item.
