1946 Vintage Real photo portrait Vanity Postcard Vanity QSL Card W3KVB The card is a lightweight white "coated" card stock, with a very slight sheen. The classic oval "portrait" photo of Richard "Red" Langiewicz" (from Erie, Pennsylvania) is a grey scale real photo portrait printed by Albraun Studios, in Milwaukee Wis.,and the handwritten information is written in green fountain pen ink. The address side of the card does not contain any printers printing. The Send to address written in the green fountain pen ink and only "PSE QSL 73" written in the return address corner. Features a 1 cent George Washington Green US Postage Stamp, postmarked Sept 27 1947 Erie, PA., although the handwritten date states "Aug 22, 1946". Which is odd, because from November 2, 1917, to June 30, 1919, the rate for postcards and postal cards was 2 cents. The 2-cent rate continued from January 1, 1952 to August 1, 1958, when the rate was raised to 3-cents. CONDITION: Printing, writing and postmark is clear and readable, not smeared or obscured. No pin holes. Corners and edges show slight wear, some minor smudges mostly due to postal mark and mailing and slight discoloration. ************* Hello there, thank you for stopping by to look at my items!.
