PRE OWNED ANTIQUE BOOK FROM THE METROPOLITAN MUSEUM OF ART A HANDBOOK OF THE AMERICAN WING OPENING EXHIBITION IN 1924 BY R.T.H. HALSEY CHARLES O. CORNELIUS ASSISTANT CURATOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF DECORATIVE ARTS The book is old and has wear on the soft cover. It is falling off the binding and has bends and tears on the front and back. The book was printed and sold by the museum in 1924 It says 3000 copies were printed on November 10, 1924 and then 3,000 additional copies were printed on November 28, 1924 The book was owned by my Great Grandfather W.D. VINCENT He had a large collection of books which he loaned out like a library. So on all his books will be his book stamp that says: RETURN TO THE LIBRARY OF W.D. VINCENT BOSIE, IDAHO and then the book was numbered. The number was also put on the outside binding. On the inside back hard cover. was a numbered ticket for those who borrowed his book. He didn't do this on all his books but I keep it in the description to let the buyer know a little about where the book had come from. The book binding is weak. It is still holding the pages together but the pages are loose in some areas and strong in other parts of the book. All pages are there. The pages are white with some pictures throughout. The outer spine has wear and some tearing Above the title on the cover my great Aunt wrote her name Charlote Alspaugh The book measures 8 3/4" X 5.5" and has 283 Pages. The book has sat on a library style bookshelf for the past 40+ years. We thought a collector might enjoy the book rather than to just have it sit and collect dust.
