Item description

Circa 1897-1905 THE PALACE "Greater Nashville's Greatest Store" Corner Summer And Union Streets BUSINESS/TRADE CARD Summer Street was renamed 5th Avenue (now Rep John Lewis) in 1904-5. The Palace building was gutted by a fire in 1905 along with the Manix building, both being two of the most popular department stores in downtown Nashville at the time. I cannot find any record of The Palace ever re-opening after the fire. My guess is this is from the 1901-1905 era due to the 4 digit phone number being in the 4000s range. Card has some names written in pencil on the back. A RARE PIECE OF NASHVILLE HISTORY! In great condition! See the pictures below! At Outstanding Oddities you can always find concert vintage t-shirts, men women's clothing, entertainment memorabilia, records, posters, books, CDs, trucker and baseball caps and hats, autographs, pop culture items, toys, comics, patches, backstage passes and laminates, collectible glasses and mugs, sports clothing and memorabilia and anything thing else cool that I can find! I enjoy finding cool things and passing them along to those who want them most. I've been selling since it started in the 90s and have also worked on selling some of the coolest items ever listed by other sellers over the years. I will always combine shipping when it is possible. Save me to your favorite sellers list because you never know what I'll find! I'm always ready to make a deal! So if you see multiple items you are interested in, let me know and maybe we can work something out! I will ship items by expedited methods upon request.
