With plenty of sunshine, heat, and a bit of water, these unique plants will thrive in dry desert areas. In their native habitat, they are often found on dry slopes and mesas. Their hardy nature makes them perfect for desert and rock gardens. They are rarely bothered by pests or disease, but deer and other wildlife love to nibble on these plants. Light Like most desert plants, the Calliandra eriophylla does best in bright sunshine. Plant these shrubs in full sun for the best results.
