Item description

10 Pink Guava Seeds (Psidium guajava), Tropical, Aromatic, Sweet Fruit Pink Guava (Psidium guajava) is a tropical fruit tree known for its fragrant, vibrant fruits and attractive growth habit. These small to medium-sized trees can grow up to 20 feet tall, with either a single trunk or multiple trunks. They have a broad, spreading canopy that can also grow upright, making them a lovely addition to your garden or orchard. The bark is uniquely mottled, ranging from greenish-brown to light brown, adding to the tree's visual appeal. The Pink Guava variety is particularly prized for its aromatic, rouge-colored flesh, which can range from pale pink to deep orange-magenta hues. The color is due to carotenoids, the same organic pigment that gives carrots and tomatoes their red-orange color. This tropical variety produces delicious, sweet fruits that are perfect for fresh eating, juicing, or making into jams and sauces. For best results, soak the seeds in water for two weeks before planting or use a quicker method by boiling them for five minutes. This helps to speed up the germination process, which typically takes up to 8 weeks. Plant the seeds in a germinating mix of sand or a sand-topsoil mixture, placing them about 1 to 1 1/2 inches apart and 1/4 inch deep in pots or directly in a garden bed. Make sure to keep the soil moist during the germination phase for optimal growth. Once the seedlings develop their first set of true leaves, transplant them into larger pots filled with clay loam soil and compost. When the guava trees are ready for their final planting, select a sunny location with rich, well-drained, deep soil. Guava trees thrive in temperatures between 73F to 82F and require full sun exposure for healthy growth and fruit production. For maximum yield, space the trees at least 33 feet apart. However, they can be planted as close as 16 feet if space is limited, though this may result in slightly lower fruit production. This Pink Guava variety is an excellent choice for gardeners seeking a tropical, low-maintenance fruit tree that will provide beautiful foliage and delicious, aromatic fruits for many years. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced gardener, Pink Guava trees are a rewarding addition to any garden.
