Le Gout du Bonheur is a "happy, playful and erotic" portfolio that is autobiographical in nature with self portraits of Picasso and caricatures of his friends. These prints are part of an album that comprises three of Picasso's studio sketchbooks dated respectively by the artist according to day, month, and year, as follows: 25.4.64-20.5.64, 15.9.64-6.10.64, 8.10.64-9.10.64.
This is the sole edition of re-creations that will ever be made of these hitherto unpublished drawings and three publishers have collaborated in its creation: Harry N. Abrams, Inc., New York, Editions Cercle d'Art, Paris, and Carl Schunemann Verlag, Bremen. The combined edition has been limited to 1998 albums for the entire world, and these have been divided into three parallel by separate editions, one for each of the participating publishers, and each separate edition has been numbered from 1 to 666. This print comes from Abrams album number 6.
