Item description
Vintage original 8x11 in. US double-weight matte keybook photograph issued to publicize the then-coming World War I drama, HOTEL IMPERIAL, released in 1939 by Paramount Pictures and directed by Robert Florey. Italian actress Isa Miranda, who spoke no English, was cast in the lead role of "Anna Warschawaska," taking the role away from Marlene Dietrich and Margaret Sullivan.
The photograph is dated 1938 in the bottom border and was issued for publicity purposes before the film was released. The image depicts an exterior long shot of the gorgeous blonde actress wearing a short striped skirt with a dark black blouse as she leans against a column on the porch of a house. On the verso is the original printed caption that described the image (which notes that Italian film director Gabriele D'Annunzio dubbed her the "most glamorous woman in the world." Also on the verso is a light green stamp from the Hollywood Advertising Advisory Council that declared this photograph as "approved" for publicity purposes on NOV 10 1938.
Printed on a larger size 8x11 in. double-weight stock with a matte finish, this vintage original keybook photograph has been two-hole punched along the top with an extra single punch on either side. It is in very fine- condition with light signs of wear around the hole punches and on the bottom right corner. There is a 0.25 in. vertical crease on the bottom border through the "P" in "Paramount." There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the image quality is very sharp with nice detail.
