These replaced a pair of XBA-2's that I dropped and lost. Frustrating, but it happened. Sony no longer produce, in my opinion, a good mid price range in-ear headphone with the ability to control an iPhone, and the XBA-2's have been discontinued.

Went on hunt for XBA-2's in second hand market and came across these XBA-4's. At the time of release in 2013/14 they were £450! No way I'd have paid that, hence paying circa £80 for the XBA-2's (reduced from £150 or something).

These factory reconditioned items are as you'd expect from Sony. They are flawless, and I'm an obsessively critical person. The sound they produce is excellent and I can hear why they were two levels up from the XBA-2's. The bass profile is excellent, particularly when listening to anything that benefits from a sub-bass driver. Warm, rich clear bass, with the ability to handle very heavy bass from dub reggae and drum and bass. Classical music can sound a little 'thin', but much is to do with the quality of the sound files I listen to. These really show the difference between 128kbps files and Apple lossless 780kbps or other 320kbps to 256kbps files. Overall very much worth the five stars, especially as they worked out at t purchase them for that purpose so not a problem. Overall very happy.
