Item description
Offered here is this nice hardcover 1979 first edition of Aunt Erma's cope book. It was written by Erma Bombeck and has the copyright date of 1979, having been published by McGraw-Hill Book Company. The book is a first edition, however, I am unsure if it is a first printing. It offers advice on how to get from Monday to Friday in 12 days. It is a humorous book and does have a handwritten inscription inside the front cover, however, the inscription is not by the author. The book was most likely a gift to someone at some point. The inscription is dated 1980. The book is in very good condition with only some minor wear on the cover, however, the paper dust jacket does have some tears and a bit more wear than the cover. The spine and binding of the book are holding well and all 180 pages are intact and in good condition. This is a very nice humorous book to offer a little laughter and lightheartedness...
In Aunt Erma's cope book, she tells the moving story of how one woman survived the pursuit of happiness until the self-help books arrived. Inspired by the Cope of the month club Guild, Erma decides to become the best, the sexiest, the smartest, and the healthiest, the yes, and the thinnest. No longer will she be the only woman on her block to wear a slip under a see-through sweater. No longer will she feel guilty if the sun sets on an empty crockpot. Here is a new Erma - ambitious, Dynamic, demanding that her butcher show her his prime rump in daylight conquering her fear of buying, trying out the Sporting Life - spurred on by experts who claimed that sex uses fewer calories than throwing a frisbee...
