Rapallo learned the profession of the primary teacher at the Lehrerseminar Zug and started to write cartoons. These were regularly published in various magazines, among others. In the fog, in the mirror, in the star, in the colorful, in the Swiss youth, in the Swiss magazine, in the Züritipp or in the bridge building. Starting in 1979, Rapallo began working for Swiss television (including the carousel and barrels).
His works could be viewed in Holland (his own studio in Amsterdam), in the gallery Arton A in Stockholm, QT-PTEC in Zug and in the Villa Val Lemme in Capriata d'Orba, Italy. Work for the public sector also left a lasting impression. Thus he created the documents for the transport education of the canton of Thurgau. In 2001, Rapallo designed two 70-cent stamps for the Principality of Liechtenstein.
At the center of his work were mostly humans and animals, which as a projection object for the often absurd human behavior. Rapallo was mostly autodidactically adapted to painting and later to sculpture. His favorite style was always the Fantastic, Surreal and Expressionist.
In August 2005 Rapallo disappeared during a walk at the Grenchenberg. On 25 May 2006 he was found dead in Bettlach SO. The circumstances of his death are unsettled. The police went out of suicide or an accident.
