Condition: About Very Good
According to the author's Preface, dated 1876 when the book was first published, this work "is an attempt to treat Paleontology... from its historical side, and in its more intimate relations with Geology".. This edition is part of the International Science Library. 407 pages , with 270 illustrations. The covers are calfskin (I believe) over marbled boards. Nice condition (particularly the spine), with a secure binding. . There is cover edge wear and pencil markings throughout the text, along with light page toning.
