Item description
INDIAN HILLS: THE PLACE, THE TIMES, THE PEOPLE
by Helen N. Brush Catherine Dittman
Graphic Impressions, Inc., Limited First Edition, 1976
Condition: VG+ to Near Fine in Good- dj
Nestled in the foothills just outside of Southwest Denver is the little mountain community of Indian Hills. Two accomplished women of the region have written this fascinating and pleasantly readable history, documenting their narrative through public records, letters and personal reminiscences, and original photographs and documents illustrate the text; there are also map end papers. The reader learns, for example, about early residents such as John Parmalee and the Ralph family, of a planned summer White House in the mountains and of the problems of 20th century growth for such a community. This copy is #138 of 300 copies printed of this Centennial Edition, celebrating 100 years of Colorado Statehood, and it is signed by both authors on the limitaton page. There are small, modest signs of wear on the cover corners and spine ends, as well as toning of pages. There appear to be no markings, tears, bumps or creases in the book, and the binding is secure. The jacket has edge tears, chips and shallow paper loss along most of the top edge of the back cover. This scarce title would be a welcome addition to a Colorado history buff's collection. Shipping is free.
