Design: Heart Shaped Nuts with Hibiscus Accents. Style: Hawaiian Lei. This Kukui Tree Nut Hawaiian Lei has graduated heart-shaped Kukui Nuts, hand knotted with Red Black ribbon. Kukui Leis used to be worn only by Hawaiian Monarchy but now they are worn for celebrations such as weddings, graduations, birthdays and other happy occasions. The nuts have been polished, hand-painted on both sides, and tied together to form the resulting lei. They are largest in the center and then get smaller as they travel towards the outer edge. The Lei is 18 3/4 inch long but there is a 10 inch length of ribbon on either end to extend the necklace to fit comfortably around any neck. This is a unisex piece as well.
