Item description
Rue Britannia, by Daphne du Maurier
1st Edition. 1st Printing. Paperback format. 1974. New York
"Rule, Britannia!". "Rule, Britannia!" is a British patriotic song, originating from the poem "Rule, Britannia" by James Thomson and set to music by Thomas Arne in 1740.
Originally written in 1972, a year before Britain joined the European Union (then the European Communities), Daphne Du Maurier's 'Rule Britannia' imagines a future world in which there is a referendum on EU membership and Britain indeed withdraws and thus strikes up a 'special relationship' with the USA, which becomes a unified state known as 'USUK'.
"Dame" Daphne du Maurier, (Lady Browning) (May, 1907 ? April, 1989) was an English author and playwright. She is generally classed as a romantic novelist. Her stories have been described as "moody and resonant" with overtones of the paranormal.
Very good condition, especially for it's age. slight on back near spine. Tight pages. No tears, marks, or writing. Wonderful addition to your collection.
