(2) Two Antique Cabinet Card Photographs. Identified as Sadie Estelle Clark. She was born April 8, 1880 in Derby, Connecticut to parents Edwin Wallace Clark and Sarah Augusta Gillette. She died November 22, 1961 in Orange, Connecticut. She was married to Lewis Samuel Brown on June 19, 1901 in Derby, CT. The children of Sadie and Lewis included Geraldine E. Brown (1905-1915), and Arline C. Brown (1908-1998) who married Leon H. Stone (1907-1996). Photos by F.H. Lee studio in Ansonia, Connecticut. Additional photos of Sadie and her husband have been listed and are being sold separately. More information on Sadie and Lewis appears below, beginning with the Gillette family line and Sadie's Gillette grandparents. Also, additional genealogical information will be provided with the purchase of these photos. Measure approximately 4.25 x 6.5 including mount. Condition: These are original photographs, not a copy or reproduction. They are in excellent condition. Comments: Eli Gillette was born June 1, 1810 in Seymour, Connecticut. He was the son of Anson Gillette (1773-1845) and Betsy Manfield (1777-1863). Eli married Eliza Bassett on September 11, 1834 in Portage, Ohio. Eliza was born February 12, 1816 in Oxford, Connecticut. Eli and Eliza had five children including Emily Gillette (1835-1925), Wilber F. Gillette (1837-1909), Augusta Gillette (1838-1841), Sarah Augusta Gillette (1846-1905), and Lillian Mary Gillette (1859-1932). Eli died August 22, 1899 in Seymour, CT, and his wife Eliza died September 20, 1894 in Seymour. Their son Wilber was married about 1870 in New Haven, CT to Amelia Rice (b. 1850). Sarah Augusta Gillette, daughter of Eli and Eliza, was born March 1, 1846 in Seymour, CT. She was married to Edwin Wallace Clark on November 14, 1866 in Connecticut. Sarah died in 1905 in Cayuga, New York. They had three children including Edwin Wilber Clark (b. 1870), Fred Gillette Clark (b. 1873, married Jennie b. 1876), and Sadie Estelle Clark (1880-1961), married Lewis Samuel Brown on June 19, 1901 in Derby, CT. Another daughter of Eli and Eliza was Emily who was born October 11, 1835 in Seymour. She was married on April 10, 1857 in Stratford, CT to Frederick Milo Clemons who was born February 9, 1838 in Stratford. Emily died in 1925. Frederick died July 25, 1885 in Connecticut. The children of Emily and Frederick included Arthur Frederick Clemons (1864-1938), Edwin G. Clemons (1870-1894), and Bertha J. Clemons. Bertha was born December 1, 1857 in Seymour, CT. She was married to Walter Watkin Radcliffe (1855-1941) in 1870. Bertha died September 27, 1941 in Shelton, CT. The daughter of Bertha and was Ethel Clemons Radcliffe (1885-1909). Ethel was married to Frank Richard Finch who was a teacher at the University of Michigan. Ethel and Walter had a daughter named Marion Finch. We have acquired additional photos of several of these individuals which have been listed and are being sold separately. Additional Comments: The photo(s) in this listing came from a large family collection with established connections to several surnames, all listed and sold separately. They include the names: Clark, Munyan, Brown, Gillette, Shaw, Call, Flynn and Radcliffe. Most of these families lived in Connecticut, and some resided in Massachusetts.
