WW2 French "1939-45 War" Medal
With "Liberation" Bar
Instituted in 1946 for all those who served ashore, afloat or in the air in the French forces and particpated in the liberation of France.
A full size bronze medal measuring 28mm wide and in excellent condition. The ribbon is original and in excellent condition. It also displays the "LIBERATION" bar. This was awarded to those who participated in the liberation of France and who came under fire or bombardment.
The obverse shows the cross of Lorraine and a Gallic cock superimposed upon it.
The reverse has the legend "Republique Francaise. Guerre 1939. 1945". It also displays an official mintmark and the initials BR (Bronze).
A very historic WW2 medal awarded to some very brave men and women.
This medal is fully guaranteed to be original and authentic and is on original ribbon.
